Full DescriptionMasterful design and modern luxury are uniquely embodied in this 5 bedroom detached coastal home, set in the highly desirable area of Plaidy in Looe. Appreciating panoramic views reaching out over to Looe Island, a viewing on this property is essential.
Being set amongst its easily maintained mature terraced gardens, the house gives off a feeling of peace and tranquillity inside. The spacious kitchen/breakfast room and its balcony make the most of the sea views and garden with full length windows to one end, and being designed with light porcelain flooring and oak kitchen units with solid granite worktops to give off an 'organic' feel.
The house was almost a full re-build in 2006, from which the current owners have taken great care and consideration in the rejuvenation, from the spacious room layout to the top quality fixtures and fittings. The property is designed to make the most of the natural light due to the use of light oak flooring and joinery, and extensive use of windows and interior glass.
Structured wiring throughout the house provides numerous Ethernet connections to all habitable rooms. This together with extensive telephone, TV and satellite wiring provides the infrastructure for a data network and distributed sound/ video system around the property. Fibre optic cable has also been installed for future high speed applications.
Stereo ceiling loudspeakers fitted in the majority of rooms are wired to a central point ready for a whole-house music distribution system.
Lighting in all principal rooms is provided by a Lutron computer controlled system allowing different lighting scenes to be created throughout the house at the touch of a button.
The property is laid out over reverse accommodation to appreciate the breathtaking coastline and is set in an elevated position where you can appreciate views of the surrounding area from all outlooks. Off the kitchen balcony, there are views across to the Banjo Pier and the working fishing boats leaving and entering the Harbour. The day time sea views don’t just end once the sun goes down either, as Looe becomes illuminated at night.
On entry level of the property, the master bedroom boasts en suite bathroom and walk in wardrobe. 3 more double bedrooms can be found on this floor, one of which also benefits from another en suite bathroom, then a further family bathroom and utility. To the second floor, a formal living room, a snug room, kitchen/breakfast room, dining room and cloakroom. To the top floor there is another large bedroom with en suite appreciating some of the best views the property has to offer. Adjoining this room, but also with a separate access, is a study which could be utilised as a dressing room or separate bedroom. There is good provision for storage with a separate storage room and also access to the boarded out loft which is equipped with lighting.
The garden surrounds the property and over the split levels of the house there are various doors to take you outside. The garden is laid to lawn at the front with a range of mature shrubs surrounding it. There is a patio area to the side with a wildlife pond, again bordered with mature trees and shrubs. The rear garden wraps around the house and is partially laid to lawn and bordered with flower beds and matured trees where the best of the garden views can be appreciated. There is driveway parking which can house up to 6 cars leading to the integral double garage.
Meridyth is on a very quiet road with little passing traffic along Plaidy, in Looe. This section is part of the South West Coastal Path. There is a small local beach just a few minutes’ walk away, viewable from the property. Looe is a twenty minute walk along the scenic coastal path which also passes Meridyth taking you towards Millendreath.
Looe is a small coastal town with a working fishing port. The town is set in a valley, separated in two by the River Looe. Made up of a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants leading down to the seafront with a sandy beach and the Banjo Pier. To the West side of Looe offshore lays St Georges Island, which is a prominent feature on the landscape view from Meridyth.
Looe is famous for its food with its fish market where you can buy local produce and you will find many eateries in the town serve up award winning fare from fish and chips near the river to gourmet menus in restaurants overlooking the harbour.
There is a Golf Club approx. 3.5 miles from the property and a tennis court in West Looe, as well as the Looe Sailing Club and Looe Rowing Club.
